In 2017 Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi as well as Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it topped the charts for most streamed songs at the time within the space of six months. A new band, Rauw Alejandro wanted to maintain the development and growth of reggaeton. The incorporation of elements from electronic dance music, and various other genres was a typical method.
