Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe came from a multi-cultural household. Her birthplace was in South London. Her father is Nigerian-Swiss as is her mom who's English. She was raised on the South London Council Estate and went to The Brit School aged 14. She earned her BA in acting from The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. While at school she appeared in a variety of stage productions like King Henry V's Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe began her acting career through the film Storm Damage. Since then she has appeared in Teachers and Doctors. Her debut film as a performer came from that of the Woody Allen 2007 movie Cassandra's Dream. She starred with Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. In the wake of that film's success, she played Elisha in the single-episode BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN, and appeared in the six episodes of Trexx and Flipside as Ollie. In 2008, Madekwe landed Bambi as the main character in the ITV2 comedy Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was the main character in 2008's comedy How to Alienate and Lose Friends. The credits she has in her theatre work are Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams as well as Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut came in 2009 with The dramatic The Beautiful Life. The drama aired for just two episodes prior to being ended on The CW. Ashley Davenport was her role in the ABC drama Revenge. The show premiered in May 2013 and it was revealed that Madekwe who had played a regular role in the two previous seasons, was to leave the series after a guest-appearance in the first episode of the new season. Between 2014 and 2016, Madekwe was a star in the role of Tituba on the show Salem. Madekwe was married to her long-time love, Iddo. In addition to Secret Diary of a Call Girl they have also worked in tandem on Salem and he had an appearance with her on the show on TV.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with an extended family. She was raised by the parents Roy and Patty together with four of their older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's four brothers, all very active, took part in hockey in the winter and baseball during the summer months, which means they grew up mostly in baseball and arenas. Ashley could not walk but danced. This led to the fact that as she grew older, she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley discovered her love for dancing at the age of. After graduating from the high school she attended, Ashley danced competitively in the highest divisions of tap, jazz, ballet and pointe as well as acrobatics, musical theatre, lyrical and hip-hop. Ashley was awarded the best soloist at each of the major dance competitions including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance among others.
