Molly grew up in Pennsylvania and began to work professionally as a teenager at the Philadelphia's Prince Music Theater. Her first professional production included The Snow Queen. Then, she played Little Red Ridinghood for the Arden Theater s Into the Woods and was nominated to win a Barrymore Award. She went on to reprise this role when she made her Broadway debut at the age of 15 in Into the Woods on Broadway in 2002 and was nominated for a Drama League Award. Molly also appeared in Broadway to perform in the production of Fiddler on the Roof. After that, she went to Princeton University and was a member in the Triangle Club. She graduated with a bachelor's degree 2008. She then attended Princeton University where she was a member of the Triangle Club and received a bachelor's degree in the year 2008. She also appeared in the Disney film College Road Trip, playing Wendy Greenhut. After graduating Molly was in Off-Broadway productions of several productions, including End Days at Ensemble Studio Theater and also in TV shows, including Royal Pains and an HBO Pilot The Wonderful Maladys. Molly was in a variety of regional plays including The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and the Barrington Stage Company, North Shore Music Theatre and Westport Country Playhouse's 2010 performance of The Diary of Anne Frank. She played Anne. Molly has starred in several regional productions, including The Diary of Anne Frank in Westport Country Playhouse's production in 2010.
